It links them with wikilinks and opens many file types. Sync mode keeps a folder on your computer in step with Google Drive; in Cloud mode the files live in Google Drive, with a read cache on your computer. The Linux build is a free download at https://keepglide.com/download (AppImage, .deb, .rpm). Windows, macOS and Android are in production. Paid licenses are not open yet. Local mode is free. When paid licenses open, a license will add Sync and Cloud: US$19, one-time, with free updates for all 1.x versions. - Name: KeepGlide for desktop (version 1.x) - Platform: desktop app for Linux (x86_64), shipped as AppImage, .deb and .rpm. Linux: available. Windows: in production. macOS: in production. Android: in production. - Status: released on Linux, free; paid licenses not open yet. - Local mode stays on your computer and needs no account. - In Cloud mode the files live in Google Drive, with a read cache on your computer. Cloud mode asks for Drive access. - Sync mode keeps a local mirror with a queue. In Sync mode, changes wait in the queue while you are offline, and the queue survives restarts. - By default the app listens only on this computer (127.0.0.1); an optional tailnet listener for MCP stays off until you turn it on. There is no analytics in the app. - Price: Local mode is free. When paid licenses open, a license will add Sync and Cloud: US$19, one-time, for the 1.x license. Free updates for all 1.x versions. - Pages: https://keepglide.com/desktop (English), https://keepglide.com/pt-br/desktop (Português) - Windows and paid licenses: join the waitlist at https://keepglide.com/get?interest=both#waitlist, or email hello@keepglide.com (subject "KeepGlide: Windows and paid licenses") ## Links - Get KeepGlide (download and waitlist): https://keepglide.com/get - Connect Google Drive (guide): https://keepglide.com/desktop/guide/cloud-provider ## Features ### Write - Three views for a note: edit, read, or both side by side. - Shortcuts for bold, italic, strike, highlight, inline code, wikilinks, tasks and heading cycling. - Tables, callouts, task checkboxes and highlights. - Code blocks with syntax highlighting. - Math with KaTeX and Mermaid diagrams, rendered in read and side-by-side views. - Properties (frontmatter) shown formatted above the note. ### Connect - Wikilinks and embeds: `[[note]]` and `![[note]]`. - Backlinks panel for every note. - Unlinked mentions, with an action to turn them into links. - Graph of the current note or of the whole vault. - #tags in text, plus emoji, color and tags per folder. - Renaming or moving a file rewrites the links to it. ### Read - PDFs: highlight, underline, strike, notes and text boxes, in several colors. - Page citations: notes that point to a PDF page show markers on that page. - Search inside a PDF; rotate pages. - Export notes to PDF in batches, with layout presets. - EPUB, MOBI, FB2 and CBZ reader. - ODT and DOC viewing (DOC needs LibreOffice, antiword or catdoc installed). - XLS and XLSX spreadsheets open read-only; CSV and TSV open as text. - Images open, and audio and video play, inside the app. - ZIP preview without extracting. ### Data and code - JSON: live validation with line and column, and one-click formatting (two-space indentation). - JSON blocks inside notes are validated and formatted at the cursor. - JSONL and NDJSON, record by record, with an error for each bad line. - Code and config files open in the editor with syntax highlighting: JSON, XML, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, and more. - File metadata viewer, copyable as text or JSON; edit PDF, SVG and XMP metadata with undo. ### Find and move - Vault search with `#tag`, `path:` and `color:` filters, file-type filters and title-only mode. - Quick switcher (Ctrl+O) and command palette (Ctrl+P), with pinned and recent items. - Tabs, split panes and pop-out windows. - Favorites: folders, files, saved searches, headings and blocks. - Recents on this computer; thumbnail grid for large folders. ### Keep it safe - In Local mode, a deleted file waits in the trash until you restore it or delete it forever. - Version history with compare and restore. - By default, a note edited on both sides is merged: the edits made on both sides are kept in one note. When the edits overlap, or the file is not a note, the app keeps both versions; the other one goes to a `_conflicts` folder. - Three modes per computer: Local (stays on your computer), Sync (local mirror with a queue) and Cloud (Google Drive). - In Sync mode, changes wait in a queue while you are offline, and the queue survives restarts. - Guest mode opens a folder or a Markdown file from outside the vault, read-only. - No analytics in the app. ### Make it yours - 24 built-in themes, each light or dark, plus custom themes. - Separate fonts for interface, editor, reading and monospace; text size. - English and Brazilian Portuguese. - Remap the shortcuts of the app's commands; the editor's formatting shortcuts are fixed. - Onboarding tutorial, including a Google Drive setup walkthrough. ## Formats it opens Markdown, JSON, JSONL, PDF, EPUB, MOBI, FB2, CBZ, ODT, DOC, CSV, TSV, XLS, XLSX, XML, SQL, images, audio, video, ZIP, source code (JSON, XML, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, and more). ## More - Help (main functions and how to use them): https://keepglide.com/desktop/help - MCP (native MCP server for AI agents): https://keepglide.com/desktop/mcp
