About KeepGlide

Our mission

KeepGlide exists to simplify retrieving, editing and finding your data, and to give you information formatted for the way you read it.

Your notes and files should stay yours, in plain formats you can open without us.

KeepGlide builds quiet tools that help you find what you need and then get out of your way.

What we believe

Your files stay in common formats

In KeepGlide for desktop, notes stay as Markdown and PDFs stay as PDFs. In Local and Sync modes the files sit in a folder on your computer; in Cloud mode they live in your Google Drive.

Local first

Local mode needs no account, no network and no cloud setup. KeepGlide for desktop runs on your computer and has no analytics.

Make the app yours

Choose from 24 built-in themes, set fonts and text size, and remap the shortcuts of the app's commands, so the app fits you.

In Local mode, nothing is deleted for good without you

Deleted files go to a local trash. You restore them or delete them forever.

How it fits together

In KeepGlide for desktop:

  • Write: edit notes with tables, callouts, code, math and Mermaid diagrams, in edit, read or side-by-side views; math and diagrams render in read and side-by-side views.
  • Connect: link notes with wikilinks and backlinks, and see your vault (the folder that holds your notes) as a graph.
  • Read: highlight and annotate PDFs, and open EPUB, spreadsheets, images and more.
  • Find: search the vault with tag, path and file-type filters, and jump with the quick switcher.
  • Keep safe: a local trash, version history and conflict copies keep your data recoverable.

We also publish AskAway User, an open-source question inbox for Claude Code: agents file their questions with a recommended default while you are away, and the work keeps moving. KeepAway Repo, a Claude Code Desktop mod in public beta, shows which issue each session on one GitHub repository is working on.

Who builds KeepGlide

KeepGlide is a one-person project. I am a software engineer, and I build, test and support everything you see here.

What I want to build with it is a different kind of technology company: one that takes real care of the people who use its products and of the people who come to work on them. When KeepGlide becomes a company, I want the people who work with me to share its results fairly, close to what I earn myself, in an inclusive and welcoming workplace.

This is the beginning. If KeepGlide helps you, telling someone about it already helps, and so does a voluntary donation.
